S.O.S. SURVIVE OR SACRIFICE
Cyprus’ rebooted film industry makes it screen debut as S.O.S. Survive or Sacrifice, produced and filmed exclusively on the island, has its first screening. The film, the first of two productions with a Hollywood influence filmed entirely in Cyprus, was proudly presented to the public by its producers Altadium Group at a restricted red-carpet event at the K-Cineplex in Nicosia in October. Cyprus-based film production company Altadium Group’s latest venture stars William Baldwin sprinkling Hollywood stardust with lead actress and co-producer of the film Marianna Rosset and Jeannine Kaspar.

JIU JITSU
Shot entirely on location in Cyprus, the film centres on an ancient order of expert Jiu Jitsu fighters facing fearsome alien invaders in a battle for Earth every six years. Starring Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage and Alain Moussi from the Kickboxer franchise, the film blends different tones and modes of science fiction, martial arts, cyberpunk and fantasy action, into one cinema gold action adventure. Directed by Dimitri Logothetis, Jiu Jitsu is based on the comic book of the same name, which Logothetis penned together with Jim McGrath. Jiu Jitsu is the first international film production to utilise the new Cyprus Film Scheme launched by Invest Cyprus. Committed to boosting this highly promising sector, the Cyprus government introduced a package of incentives encouraging international producers to choose Cyprus as their next film destination.
